Your Source for Heat-Resistant Tapes & Fabrics

PTFE, more commonly known as Teflon™, is used to provide a slippery non-stick surface and heat-resistant properties for a variety of applications ranging from baking to high-tech composite manufacturing. With this in mind, Englewood Industrial Solutions and our entire team of industrial tape manufacturers can provide PTFE solutions for your needs. Learn more about these heat-resistant tapes and fabric down below and contact us for more information!

Key Characteristics of This Industrial Tape Solution:

  • Resistance to extreme temperatures and abrasion
  • Non-stick surfaces that resist adhesion and chemical bonding
  • Engineered adhesives that provide a secure bond and easy clean up (no residue)
  • Excellent heat transfer
  • Chemically inert and non-toxic for food-contact applications

Benefits of PTFE for Tapes & Fabrics

High-strength PTFE-coated glass fabric is the foundation for several versions of release fabrics and pressure-sensitive industrial tape solutions. Below are the most common grades of PTFE-coated fabrics Englewood Industrial Solutions offers:

  • Standard products provide excellent release properties for a variety of applications
  • Premium products offer exceptional release and strength
  • Fluorfab™DXL products provide increased resistance to abrasion and wear
  • Mechanicals have a lighter coating of PTFE resulting in a more textured surface
  • Porous is gas permeable for use as “peel-ply” in composite manufacturing

How Industrial Tape Manufacturers Create PTFE Products

In short, PTFE tape is created when pressure-sensitive adhesive is coated to one side of the fabric. With this in mind, there are two primary adhesive systems. Silicone adhesive is designed for operating temperatures up to 500°F and is protected with a yellow waffle-style liner. However, acrylic adhesive is an aggressive coating for an operating temperature of 350°F and is protected with a smooth blue plastic liner. PTFE Tape can also be supplied without a liner.

Different Options From Englewood Industrial Solutions

Zone Tape is a custom-fabricated industrial tape solution with pressure-sensitive adhesive added to the edges of a roll providing a non-adhesive center void. The adhesive is protected with a liner that is removed when applied. The zone tape created by our industrial tape manufacturers is useful in heat sealing and cutting applications to allow for adhesion to the fixture but provide an adhesive-free zone not sticking to the silicone rubber or heating element

Skived, extruded and high-modulus PTFE is a flexible film product with a pressure-sensitive adhesive that is very conformable. High-temperature capabilities and chemical resistance combined with the non-stick and superior abrasion properties make the film PTFE an excellent choice for coating and printing applications. The conformability and superior electrical properties are suited for electrical applications including wire harness, insulation, and abrasion resistance.

However, PTFE fabrics and tapes can also be fabricated into belts and custom shapes for easy application and removal. The belts from Englewood Industrial Solutions can be single, double-ply, open mesh, edge reinforced with heat sealed or mechanical splices. Fabricated parts can be die-cut shapes sewn into pouches and sleeves to the specific size required for the most detailed applications.
